In the midst of some very wintery weather here in Iowa, on Saturday the official 2019 RAGBRAI route was revealed to the public!

According to the Des Moines Register, the 47th Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa route will make stops throughout south-central and southeastern Iowa July 21st through the 27th. The race will kick off in Council Bluffs and end in Keokuk, on what is the 8th easiest route in the event's history. The entire thing is 427 miles with 14,735 feet of climb. The cities hosting overnight stops include:

  • Atlantic
  • Winterset
  • Indianola
  • Centerville
  • Fairfield
  • Burlington

All of the pass-through towns will be announced in March.

The Des Moines Register also reports that "the 2019 route will camp in comparatively populous towns, relative to past routes. Every stop-over locale on this year’s route has more than 5,000 residents, and four towns — Council Bluffs, Indianola, Burlington, and Keokuk — have more than 10,000. " Around 10,000 riders are expected to participate.
