A delicious festival will be happening here in Eastern Iowa in just a few weeks!

If you're a fan of sausage, then you'll no doubt be a fan of the 'Wurst Festival' in the Amana Colonies. The annual event is happening on Saturday, June 19th. According to the official website:

"At the Market Barn area, in the center of the village of Amana, you will find local sausage vendors, beer, drinks, desserts, and sides. Wurst Festival features different types of brats, sausage creations, and more things meat!"

In addition to all the food, there will also be a beverage tent, live music from the Bernemann Brothers, yard games, the Masskrugstemmen Competition, a scavenger hunt, plus various events at different shops, wineries, and restaurants in the area. You can even attend Iowa’s Wurst University!

And, of course, there can't be a festival about sausage without wiener dogs! The Dachshund Derby will feature local Dachshunds in a race to be the “Wurst Dog in Eastern Iowa.” The website says that "any and all Dachshunds are welcome to enter," and there is a grand prize of a $100 Amana Colonies gift card for the winner.
