Tickets For Cedar Rapids’ Game at Field of Dreams to Go On Sale
The first Minor League Baseball game at the Field of Dreams stadium in Dyersville is fast approaching with tickets about to go on sale.
Minor League Baseball has announced that tickets for Cedar Rapids' game versus Quad Cities on Tuesday, August 9 (6 p.m.) will go on sale this Saturday, July 2, at 10 a.m.
Tickets will be available only to residents of Iowa and Illinois from July 2 at 10 a.m. through Thursday, July 7 at 10 p.m. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, July 8 at 10 a.m. (all times are Central Daylight Saving Time)
Tickets are $85 for tip-up seats or $65 for bench style seats. *Note, that there are only six sections of tip-up seats. They're all of the sections on the first base line and the three behind the home plate area. A seating map that shows the sections is below.
You can purchase up to eight tickets and two parking passes to the minor league game. The parking passes are free with the purchase of tickets. The site points out that "driving a personal or rental vehicle is the primary mode of transportation available to the site." All tickets are delivered via the MLB Ballpark app. They won't be accepting paper tickets at the stadium. I've used the MLB Ballpark app several times and it's super easy.
The map of the stadium for the game (below and here) shows Cedar Rapids will be in the first base dugout for the game. Yes, it says "Bunnies" because that's how Cedar Rapids will be known that night.
As we told you back in April, that's in honor of the nickname of the Cedar Rapids team for several decades in the first half of the 1900s. Cedar Rapids has had a great season thus far, winning the Western Division title for the first half of the Midwest League season. A Minnesota Twins affiliate, they sported the best record in the league at 43-23.
Quad Cities, known as the River Bandits these days, will be the Davenport Blue Sox for the game. The Quad Cities team was called that two different times, from the 1910s to the late 1930s.
I can't wait to see the uniforms they wear inside the Field of Dreams stadium. It should be a very cool trip back in time. The game will be televised live by MLB Network.
More information on tickets for the Cedar Rapids-Quad Cities game is available here. Minor League Baseball indicates tickets will be sold on this page.
