Tonight Could Set a New Uptown Friday Night Attendance Record
With a near-perfect weather forecast this evening, the Cedar Rapids Jaycees are hopeful that a huge turnout could set a new attendance record for Uptown Friday Nights at McGrath Amphitheater in downtown Cedar Rapids.
It seems fitting since this is the opening night of their 30th anniversary. The band BLACK THE SUN will perform along with special guests Four Day Creep, starting at 6:00 p.m.
The gates open at 5:30 p.m. and 94.1 KRNA's Jaymz Larson will be broadcasting for the event. Admission is low, (still just $5) and drinks and food are very moderately priced.
Food from Paul Revere Pizza includes brats, nachos, burgers, pizza. A wide variety of beers, wine, sodas and water are all available. Tonight's guest bartenders include limolink, hibu and Lynch Ford of Mt. Vernon.
Remember that Uptown Friday Nights is a 21+ older event, so bring your ID.
It's the perfect way to kick off your weekend and a very symbolic way to welcome the unofficial arrival of summer to Eastern Iowa.
