When you go Black Friday shopping, the goal is to find the best deals.  WalletHub says retail spending on Black Friday is expected to reach $655.8 billion this year, up from about $631 billion a year ago. They recently broke down the Black Friday ads of 35 U.S. retailers, to see who are offering the best product discounts by item category, as well as several other factors. Here is some of what they found.

Apparel and AccessoriesGordman's tops this category. We are lucky to have one right here in Cedar Rapids.

Computers and PhonesIn this category, K-Mart has the best deals. Here in Cedar Rapids, we'll have to settle for the second place retailer, JCPenney.

ToysFred Meyer and Sam's Club scored best in this product category.

Jewelry: For jewelry, the top stores are Stage, Shopko--which has a location in Vinton--and the highest ranked retailer to have locations in Cedar Rapids, Kohl's.

Consumer Electronics: Fred Meyer and Staples.

Appliances: Stage and JCPenney

Furniture: Shopko and Fred Meyer

Consumer packaged goods (groceries, cleaning products, shoes, etc.): Macy's and Meijer

The 5 best overall retailers (average % discount)

 Macy's-63.4%

Stage-62.8%. Tied with JCPenney.

Gordman's-61.6%
