Residents have been moving out of the Land of Lincoln at an incredible clip the past few years so I am sure these findings won't surprise anyone looking for more reasons to pack up and go.
WalletHub published a report of the finest tiny towns in America and used affordability, economic health, education & health, quality of life, and safety to come up with scores.
To find out, WalletHub compared more than 1,300 U.S. cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 based on 45 key indications of livability.
Based on their findings, not just one but two different towns in Wisconsin made the cut.
Brookfield scored 69.04 overall while Appleton scored 68.25, both landed in the 99th percentile in the survey.
Meanwhile, an Illinois town was placed in the lowest 1 percentile when it comes to the best small cities to live and that's East St. Louis.
Overall, East St. Louis city scored a tough 44.73. Kankakee, Danville, Alton, and Granite City rounded out the five worst "small" cities in Illinois.
