Two of America’s ‘Most Obese’ Cities are in Illinois

You might be able to blame where you live as the reason why you're thicker than you remember.

According to a new study from 24/7 Tempo two of the most obese cities in America are in Illinois.

That's kind of disappointing but hey, it's a new year and an opportunity for us to make a resolution to lose some weight.

Kankakee was ranked 23rd with 24/7 Tempo listing the obesity rate among adults (40.60%), adults who don't exercise regularly, people over 20 with diabetes, and adults in poor to fair health slightly above the national average.

Things took a bit of a shocking turn as I scrolled a bit further through the list noticing Rockford was labeled as the 18th most obese city in America.

Each one of the categories studied by 24/7 Tempo shows Rockford well above the national average.

To see Rockford's name on the list is a major let down but I need to look at the bright side of things because at least we aren't Laredo.

Located in Texas, Laredo is followed by Montgomery. Alabama is considered the two most obese cities in America.

Just a quick search reveals preventative measures on how to not be obese:

• Exercise regularly
• Eat a well-balanced diet
• Maintain a healthy body weight
• Limit unhealthy foods
• Improve sleep routine and reduce stress

If you can do those things you will be on your way to living a healthy lifestyle.
