University Of Iowa Plans Exclusive Virtual Event for Stead Family Children’s Hospital
Every year, one of the major events held at the University of Iowa to raise funds for the Stead Family Children's Hospital is the Ladies' Football Academy.
It's an event lead by Iowa head football coach Kirk Ferentz and his wife, Mary, and it was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, even as the pandemic looks to be beginning to wind down, they've decided to go a different route this year too.
Instead of holding the Iowa Ladies' Football Academy this year, according to KCRG, the Ferentzes have pivoted and will spearhead a virtual event that will focus on exclusive previews and inside looks at the upcoming Hawkeye football season. A conversation with coach Ferentz, a live player panel, behind the scenes in the film room and a silent auction.
Register for "A Night With Hawkeye Football" which will take place June 10, at the Iowa Ladies' Football Academy website. The virtual event is open to all, but capacity will be limited so register quickly. The silent auction goes live this Friday, June 4. You do not have to register to participate in the auction.
According to the event website, the packages include "the opportunity to win exclusive Iowa Football packages including food & drinks for 10 in Kinnick Stadium locker room with the football staff, football game packages including 2 nights in Marriott Courtyard across from Kinnick Stadium, Outdoor Club Seats, VIP Parking, a weekend for 10 at Legacy Acres Hunting Lodge in Parnell, and lots of authentic Iowa Football swag!”
The Iowa Ladies' Football Academy has raised over 2 million dollars for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
