UPDATE:

Abbie Callahan has announced that her journey on American Idol has ended and that she is not one of the contestants who made it to Hawaii. She made the top 90 out of over 10,000 auditions, though, which is SERIOUSLY impressive! We still think she has a bright future ahead of her!

If you've been keeping up with the new season of 'American Idol,' then you may have heard about 17-year-old Abbie Callahan. Abbie is from Iowa City, and although she hasn't been prominently featured on 'American Idol' yet, there is a chance you have spotted her face a few times during the last couple of episodes. We're so excited to have another Iowa singer in the competition this year, especially one as talented as Abbie!

Abbie is a junior at West High and began singing when she was in fourth-grade. She has performed all over Iowa, and although she mainly does pop music, she does enjoy other genres. She's actually written about 100 songs already!

We were lucky enough to steal some of Abbie's time and bring her up to the radio station this week for an interview, where we got to ask her alllll about her experience on 'American Idol' and her goals for the future! Here's the video from that interview:

No matter how far Abbie makes it on 'American Idol,' we can tell she has a bright future ahead of her and we can't wait to see where her career takes her!

Oh, and since American Idol didn't show her audition, here's a clip of what she sang:
