Bowlers in Eastern Iowa have one less bowling alley to visit. According to KCRG, Westdale Bowling Center, located at 2020 Scotty Drive in Cedar Rapids, has officially closed its doors.

Unfortunately, we don't know much about why the bowling alley closed. Many people were made aware of the closure by a photo posted to Facebook. The photo shows a note that was left on the main doors of the building. It reads:

"Thanks for the memories... It's been a great ride but after 32 years we are closed. We apologize for any inconvenience & appreciate your support."

KCRG called the business and reported that the answering machine says the closure was effective on November 30th. The last post on Westdale's official Facebook page was from November 27th and talks about open bowling, giving no indication that they were about to shut their doors. As of right now, a reason for the closure has not been given. Westdale Bowling Center has been open in Cedar Rapids since 1984.
