Westdale Rebirth Begins

As a 20+ year resident of Cedar Rapids, my feelings are a little mixed today as we see the end beginning for Westdale Mall, as we know it.  Unfortunately, it's become very clear in recent years that the current configuration was no longer viable.  Today, demolition has begun on the former Montgomery Ward store along Edgewood Road and the $90 million revival that's ahead is very exciting:
