There are lots of variables that determine when the holiday music begins on 104.5 KDAT.

How Cold Is It? It just doesn't seem like Christmas to lots of people if the weather isn't quite cold enough. So far we've had a mild November, and this week it looks like that will continue through this week.

Does It Have to Snow First? While we would like to have a little snow to make the switch, we sometimes start Christmas music before we see flurries, simply because on average, we may be well into December before the first snowflakes hit the ground in Eastern Iowa.

Is Thanksgiving Early This Year? November 24 is the day we give thanks, and it also plays a role in deciding when Christmas music begins. Sometimes Thanksgiving comes early in the month of November, sometimes later. This year, Thanksgiving on the 24th is a good "in-the-middle" of the window.

Will There Be a "Countdown"? Yes, we will start the countdown today...

Will Bob and Sheri Play Christmas Music? Yes, Bob and Sheri are ready to go with holiday music as soon as we flip the switch.

How About John Tesh Show?  Of course he will! But John will start the holiday music on his 7:00 p.m. show a little later this year. He is a traditionalist and we respect that.

Will There Be a Special Guest to Mark The Occasion. Yes! We've invited Tim Hankewich, Music Director of Orchestra Iowa to join us for the ceremonial "flip of the switch'

So...WHEN WILL IT HAPPEN?!?

Following the Bob and Sheri Show at 9:00 a.m.tomorrow! Tuesday November 15th, 104.5 KDAT becomes your Official Holiday Music Station!
