False advertising is annoying, even if it's just a little inconvenient fib and not a serious and outright lie. You might remember, there were people who tried to sue Red Bull for not giving them actual wings and Subway for a foot long sandwich not actually being a full foot long, and of course spilling a hot beverage in their lap and suing because it was...too hot. Those are a bit ridiculous and extreme but here are some other examples of what I'm talking about.

    Push To Open Here

That little half circle, dotted line on the side of a macaroni and cheese box that says "Push to Open Here" is WRONG. It never works and you end up pulling the whole top off the box. No biggie, but they just shouldn't tease us like that.

    Streak-Free Shine

There are secrets and tips out there to actually make your mirrors, windows and glass table tops "streak-free" but when it promises right on the glass cleaner bottle a "streak-free shine", I expect it to deliver without extra effort from me.

    Speedy Checkout

You know the feeling. You enter the "speedy checkout" lane at the store because you're in a hurry or just have a few things (not to be confused with the "X number of items or less" lane which if someone hasn't followed is also annoying) and it ends up being the SLOWEST LANE. The two people with larger orders ahead of you in the line you just left have finished by the time you get to the register in the new lane.

    30 Minutes or Less

Notice how you don't hear this promise much anymore? It's probably because they figured out they can't get it to you in 30 minutes or less without a speeding ticket and don't want to risk giving a discount or freebie for not making it on time.
