The Friday, June 8 edition of Uptown Friday Nights will be a special evening at the McGrath Amphitheatre...a "flood of celebrations", if you will.

As we approach the 10th anniversary of the flood of 2008, Cedar Rapids Jaycees Media & Marketing Director Nicole Schroeder tells us this night will serve as an unofficial commemoration of the progress and successful recovery the city has made in the wake of that disaster. In that spirit, the McGrath Amphitheatre serves as a symbol of that recovery--right next to the very river that crested at over 31 feet on June 13, 2008.

Well Strung kicks off the night at 6 p.m., followed by The Pork Tornadoes from 7-10, extending the night by an hour. The Pork Tornadoes are also celebrating their 10th anniversary together with this show.

The Cedar Rapids Jaycees hope to see record attendance for this special night, as they continue to celebrate the 30th season of "Uptown Friday Nights".

104.5 KDAT looks forward to seeing you there. Meanwhile, come see us this Friday, June 1 for the music of Crazy Delicious. The gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6.

Admission to the events is $5 and you must be 21 or older to attend.
