The Cedar Rapids Community School District finalized their plans for how students will make-up all the days they've missed during a tough winter. There was no debate and no opposition to the plan which will stretch the district year into June.

The Cedar Rapids School board approved the plan that will stretch the school year through at least June 5th. It was originally scheduled to end in May. To make up for lost hours, the plan also eliminates all early outs for Fridays in March and April, starting with this Friday. May 3rd and May 10th will also be full school days. Early dismissals will resume on May 17th.

April 19th, originally a day off, will not serve as a make-up day. Spring break scheduled for the middle of March will also remain untouched. What happens if we're hit with more winter weather and school delays? The district says that it has three remaining early outs which could be used to make up hours. Otherwise, get ready for more hot school days in June.
