Iowa’s Hailey Whitters Will Have an Item in the Country Music Hall of Fame
Country singer Hailey Whitters' star just keeps on rising!
Late last week, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum announced all of the artists that will be featured in this year's “American Currents: State of the Music” exhibit. According to the Hall of Fame's website, the annual exhibit "offers a broad look at country music and its place in American culture over the past year. The latest installment, open now through February 2025, features music and moments from cozy clubs to arena rafters." Among the artists featured is Eastern Iowa's own Hailey Whitters!
Hailey announced the honor on social media this weekend with a video that shows her receiving the news from the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The item of hers that will be featured in the exhibit is her iconic corn skirt!
Hailey's corn skirt was custom-made by Fables by Barrie, who wrote on social media that "everything but the checks was custom dyed, bleach and salt distressing on the denim, and kernels sewn and emerald-cut gemmed with love." Hailey first debuted the skirt in 2021, proudly representing the state of Iowa for several different performances.
Items from a bunch of other artists are set to be featured in the exhibit, including Luke Combs, Tyler Childers, Oliver Anthony, Martina McBride, Kacey Musgraves, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Morgan Wallen, and more. It will officially open on Wednesday, February 28th and remain until February of 2025.
Hailey's debut single "Everything She Ain't" peaked at number 17 on the US Country Airplay chart. Her current single "I'm in Love" is another fan favorite. We could not be happier about her continued success!
