Heat Up The Summer With Hootie & The Blowfish

KDAT is excited to welcome Hootie & The Blowfish to the Great Jones County Fair in Monticello this Friday night, July 19.

It's the band's 25th anniversary and "reunion" tour, though some of us feel like they never went away. Lead vocalist Darius Rucker has been working as a soloist for the past several years and thought it would be a good time to get the band back together.

We couldn't be happier to be part of that. Amber Koppenhaven of Marion was KDAT's winner in the "Heat Up The Summer with Hootie" ticket giveaway and she's on her way with 2 tickets to the concert and fair admission passes. Congratulations Amber!

Looking at recent setlists, which don't change much between shows, we're in for a wide array of the band's best like "I Go Blind", "Let Her Cry" and "Only Want to Be With You" to Rucker's solo work ("Wagon Wheel", anyone?).
They are even covering Led Zeppelin and R.E.M. at some shows.

The band will be joined by Barenaked Ladies. We can't wait for a great time Friday night. See you there!
