Human Microchipping is About To Take Hold

It's a slippery slope when you hear that a company in Wisconsin has signed off to be the first to implement microchipping in their employees.

That's right, a story is making national news that Three Square Market in River Falls, Wisconsin, is working on a way to implant microchips in employees. Physically into the skin of employees. Sounds like something out of a sci-fi/horror movie to me. The goal, they say, is to replace your access key to open the doors to the building--and as a convenient form of payment in the vending machine in the break room?

I have a feeling that's not the full extent of their agenda.

Potentially, they say the technology could also be used for everything from logging into your computer, using the copy machine, exchanging business cards and more.

The "more" being the ability to monitor employees on and off the company premises, perhaps? Is this really the road we want to go down?

The employees are not (yet) required to use it, but those that have signed up seem to look past the privacy concerns and see it as something "trendy". It feels a bit sketchy to me. What are your thoughts? Share them in the comments.
