Iowa is One of the Safest States for Online Dating

Sometimes it feels like I'm the only single person in the world that's not on a dating app. Tinder, Bumble, Match, OkCupid... there is an endless world of dating online, but just because it makes dating easier, doesn't mean it makes dating safer. High Speed Internet said it best in their new report:

"online dating can be a great way to connect with new people, but keep your eyes open to warning signs. There are some creeps, predators, and scammers out there."

We can worry a little less here in Iowa, though! We were ranked 8th on the list of the safest states for online dating in 2019. The top 5 safest states include:

1. Vermont
2. West Virginia
3. New Hampshire
4. Maine
5. Utah

On the other hand, here are the top 5 most dangerous states for online dating:

1. Alaska
2. Louisiana
3. Mississippi
4. Georgia
5. Nevada

In order to come up with the rankings, High Speed Internet used data on violent crime, cybercrime, STDs, and sex education.
