These folks sound like prime candidates to be Santa's helpers, and thanks to them, lots of kids in Eastern Iowa will be guaranteed a fun toy under their tree this Christmas.

Blu Track is a very small company with a factory in Anamosa. According to what their spokesperson told Radio Iowa, this Friday's operation (October 21) will be devoted entirely to making 500 of its dual-track kits to donate to local Toys for Tots chapters.

With only seven employees, they've also enlisted help from several community volunteers including bank workers, members of a veterans' group, and the Anamosa Chamber of Commerce.

We’ll have staff and partners working side by side,” (spokesperson Amy) Belding says. “We’ll have people folding the boxes, we’ll have people putting cars in and sorting cars. We’ll have people putting in the other things that go in, and then we’ll have people pack those out and put them into case boxes for shipping.

Blu Track makes flexible two-lane toy racetracks and car kits. They were founded in Pella more than 20 years ago and their kits are designed for both fun and educational purposes.

In each of these boxes that are going for Toys for Tots, there are two cars that have been donated, so two race cars, and 15 feet of track, and what we call an anchor bar, so that can help hold whatever design the kids are trying to make, and then a suction cup.

200 of their donated units will be going to Jones County Toys for Tots and 300 to Cedar Rapids.
