No winner Monday night when the jackpot stood at $1 billion. Still no winner after Wednesday night's $1.2 billion drawing. So, now Iowans and others around the country are set to line up for a Saturday night frenzy when the Powerball grand prize hits $1.6 billion. That's a new record!

The previous high was a $1.56 billion jackpot, won by three ticketholders in 2016.

Per KCRG, Wednesday night's numbers, for the record, were 22, 11, 60, 2, and 35, and the Powerball was 23. The Power Play was 2X. According to USA Today, winners can receive their prize through an annual payment plan over 29 years, most opt for the cash payment on the spot. According to Fortune magazine, financial experts say this is not the right way to go. Financial planner Nicolas Bunio said:

It allows you to make a mistake here and there. People don’t understand there is a potential for loss. They only focus on the potential for gain

Well, what a Denny Downer. The Powerball jackpot has continued to rise since August, the last time anyone picked all six numbers. The game is played in 45 states, including Iowa of course, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

You can't win if you don't play, so good luck if you're taking a chance against those 1 in 292.2 million odds!
