Jordan Bohannon has been granted a 5th year of eligibility by the Big Ten Conference on Tuesday. The Des Moines Register reports that Bohannon, the school's all-time leader in three-pointers, will continue his Iowa career and make the Hawkeyes a formidable foe next season.

Bohannon played in 10 games this past season, the maximum the NCAA allows for a player who wants to seek a medical redshirt. Bohannon had hip surgery in December. His return to the roster, plus the expected return of center Luka Garza and forward Joe Wieskamp, will make Iowa a Big Ten favorite next year.

Bohannon wasn't the only Iowa player to get good news yesterday. The Register reports that Jack Nunge, who played in five games last year before tearing his ACL, was also approved for a medical hardship waiver. That means that Nunge, who will be going into his fourth year of college next year, will still only be a sophomore. The 6 foot 11 inch forward is expected to be a big contributor for the Hawkeyes next year.

The Register reports that Iowa is still waiting on word about it's petition for forward Patrick McCaffery, who played in just two games last year while dealing with health issues related to his past battles with thyroid cancer. All signs point to a good recovery as his dad and coach Fran McCaffery reports that the 6 foot 9 inch Patrick weighs over 200 pounds for the first time in his career.
