I don't know about you, but my garage is starting to fill up with bags of empty aluminium cans. For a while, there was no place to take them because of the pandemic. But thankfully, that has changed.

In case you didn't know, the Can Shed in Cedar Raids is open again!

I went to the Can Shed last Monday, only to find out they were closed and they now have limited hours and days. If you want to drop off your cans, you can do so on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Those are the only days you can visit the Can Shed in Cedar Rapids.

I was there today, on a Thursday, only to find the line was almost to the end of the parking lot! I talked with Bill, from the SW side of Cedar Rapids. He told me, "I didn't think the line would be this long, especially at 10 o'clock in the morning!"

I was thinking the exact same thing, but with the limited hours of operation, it's always busy now over at the Can Shed. It was too hot for me today, so I decided to come back next week.

The Can Shed is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, the doors open at 8 a.m., and the last can is taken in at 4 p.m. I was told Saturday mornings are the busiest times at the Can Shed.
