Approximately 450 Johnson County students and their families got a very nice surprise when their lunch debts were paid off by anonymous donors. The students are from the Clear-Creek Amana School District in Tiffin, but they aren't the only eastern Iowa students feeling the magic of the holiday season.

Laurie Haman, the director of communications for the Clear-Creek Amana School District, told KCRG approximately $5,300 has been donated to the cause in the last few weeks, including a substantial donation that will be made this weekend.

There have been about a dozen donors who've made donations. Most of those remain anonymous but the Tiffin church, Infuse Church, will announce a $1,400 donation this Sunday.

Seven other school districts received around $6,200 Thursday, December 19, from the Coralville company MediRevv. That money will also be used to help pay off lunch debts for eastern Iowa kids.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to help pay off outstanding lunch debt at Clear-Creek Amana, or other school districts, should call the specific district's office for more information.
