Popular Movie-Watching Snack Recalled In Iowa
If you’re a fan of popcorn, you might want to make sure this item is not in your snack cabinet.
The company Snak King is voluntarily recalling some of its popcorn that was sold across 17 states and the Washington DC area.
Snak King called the recall on April 12, 2022, due to a cross-contamination concern.
The recall is on the company’s 5-ounce packages of “O Organic Sea Salt Organic Popcorn”. If you have recently purchased this, check for the “best if used by” dates of 09/24/2022 and 09/25/2022.
The reason behind the recall is there is the potential for an undeclared milk allergen in the popcorn. This means there is a chance that people with milk allergies or sensitivities are at risk for allergic reactions.
Recalled popcorn was sold at; ACME, Safeway, King's, Balducci's, Jewel-Osco, Andronico's Community Markets, Vons, Pak 'N Save, Albertsons, Eagle, Carrs-Safeway, Haggen, and Pavilions.
These stores are located in; Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington DC, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Idaho.
The UPC number for the recalled popcorn is 079893 403038. So far there have been no reported illnesses from the popcorn.
