KCRG reports that, Alliant Energy says that it has "restored power to nearly 70 percent of its customers". That was as of 9 a.m. Monday according to the energy company's Facebook page. KCRG reports that "as of 10 a.m. Alliant said Linn County has fewer than 40,000 without power."

The post also shares that more crews are on the way to help with the restoration and cleanup of debris and trees. Also, they've teamed up with Marion Food Pantry and beginning at noon today they will have volunteers handing out sandwiches (while supplies last) at the Marion Square Plaza. It's nice to see power coming back on for more area residents. We know crews are hard at work doing what they can to get things back to normal.

For those residents without power, here's what you should know when it comes to using fire in the area. According to the city's text alerts, a burn ban has been added to the Emergency Proclamation prohibiting all outdoor recreational fires. No burning debris or recreation. Dried firewood in a fire pit is allowed only for the time necessary to cook any food, then it should be extinguished. Charcoal and propane grills can be used at single-family homes. For multi-family dwellers, grills larger than a pound cylinder are prohibited above ground level.
