Single DJ (shamelessly) seeks the love of his life.

I am making no secret lately of the fact that I'm single. I've even been on our sister station's morning show multiple times the past couple of weeks discussing my progress-or lack thereof. Co-workers have taken me out more often than ever in recent weeks trying to get me social. It's been a lot of fun, which will continue, but still here we are. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't rely on other people for your happiness, blah blah blah. Easy for you to say. Maybe I'm just trying too hard.

It turns out, researchers have revealed that finding the love of your life is much easier than you might think. In fact, most of us have about a 1 in 562 chance of finding the one true love of our lives on any given day.

The people with the easiest odds are seniors, age 65-74 (maybe because they're not as picky), while millennials aged 18-24 have it the toughest. Meanwhile, and not too surprisingly, people between 35-47 years of age are overall most likely to be the ones actively looking for love. But what are some of the best ways to find the love of your life (if you're looking, that is)?

  • Clubs and bars came in pretty low, at 9 percent. (So much for that).
  • The odds of meeting through hobbies and shared interests stood at 11 percent. (Maybe I should get me a few of those).
  • Meeting someone at the gym or through friends or colleagues were listed at 15 and 16 percent, respectively.
  • But, the mathematically best odds of meeting that special someone happen through...online dating!

So, if you're looking for some romance in your life, it might just be a click away. I'm trying it. I'm putting myself out there. I'll let you know how it goes. I got coaxed into it by a co-worker, so if in a few weeks things aren't going well I'll either blame him or make him personally revise my profile.

Have you tried online dating? What kind of luck did you have? Share your thoughts in the comments.
