Uber has released a new feature that will give riders more insight into how drivers view them. Are you seen as a perfect customer, or do drivers not prefer to drive you around?

The new Uber feature now lets riders see their 1-5 star ratings. Just like drivers are able to see how their passengers rate their service, passengers are now able to see how drivers rate their behavior.

"Starting today, all Uber users can access a breakdown of their average rating in the Uber app's new Privacy Center. You'll see how many drivers gave you a stellar 5-star rating, how many handed out the dreaded single star, and everything in between," the company announced in a blog post.

In the blog post, Uber also includes how to access your passenger ratings.

How to find your Uber rider rating:

  1. In the settings menu, tap privacy and then Privacy Center
  2. In the Privacy Center, swipe to the right and click on 'would you like to see a summary of how you use Uber'
  3. Scroll down to the 'browse your data' section and tap on 'View my ratings' to see the breakdown.

If you are worried about your ride score, fear not. Uber reassures us that no one has a perfect 5-star rating. However, if you have trashed your rider's reputation by acting up on a drunk night out, you are able to boost your score back up by following these next few tips. Uber drivers have shared reasons why they give out bad ratings to passengers.

Reason Uber drivers give poor ratings to passengers:

  • Riders are not ready

When riders are not ready, take a long time to approach the car, or give drivers the wrong pick-up spot, they waste the time of the driver. To fix this: BE READY!

  • Passengers slam the door

It can be easy to slam a door if you are not thinking, but that loud slam is surely heard by the driver, and they do not appreciate you abusing their car. To fix this: Treat the car with respect and DON'T SLAM THE DOOR!

  • Riders are messy

Uber drivers take the time to clean their cars for their rider's comfort. When the back seat is trashed and left a mess, drivers are not happy. Solution: Leave the car how you found it.

  • People don't buckle up

Unbuckled passengers in the back seat can put the driver at greater risk of injury in a crash. It doesn't matter how old you are or what seat you are in, fix this problem by always buckling up!
