Will Perfect Game Field Be Ready in Time for Kernels Opener?

The clock is ticking with less than three weeks until the spring season opener for the Cedar Rapids Kernels. They host the Peoria Chiefs on Thursday April 4 at 6:35 p.m.

With winter's grip barely letting go these past few days the big question is will the stadium be ready for play on April 4?  With melting mounds of snow in the parking lots still swirling down local sewer drains, we can only hope that an upcoming dry, warm spell will be all that is needed to insure a lush green playing field.

Single game ticket sales begin this Monday March 18, at 10:00 a.m. their ticket windows are open daily Monday- Friday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Online tickets are available at Kernels.com

The team is going through a phone system upgrade. So you may experience a delay if you want to order tickets by phone. You can always buy your tickets directly at the stadium box office located at 950 Rockford Rd SW Cedar Rapids.

The 2019 Kernels arrive in Cedar Rapids on Sunday, March 31st and your first chance to meet the new team is on Tuesday, April 2nd as part of 'Meet the Kernels Night'.
