Cedar Rapids ’80s Bar Is Relocating

With the recent news that the former Backpocket Pilot Pub in downtown Cedar Rapids would become the new home to an Asian restaurant, what will become of the '80s-themed bar we told you about some time ago that was considering that spot?

"The Rewind" has rewound its plans and will move to a different location in Cedar Rapids. Nassor Cooper remains the owner and will now take this cool idea to the former Beaver Creek Saloon, 1010 2nd Ave SW.

No word on why the move was made, but it appears the project is still a go. A Facebook post says the opening date is in limbo due to winter weather delaying work, but "sometime in April" is a good bet, according to the owners.

Owners say they also plan to have an approximately weeklong soft opening when they launch. During this soft opening, 50 tickets per day will be distributed as $5 drink vouchers to customers who plan to attend. Check their Facebook page for more information.
