I'm dreaming...of a White Christmas.

Are you? Well, according to KWWL there is a pretty good chance. I've heard few complaints about this week's bright, mild weather but we know the snow is eventually coming back. If you're thinking the November onslaught had us meeting our quota for the season, think again.

If you're like me, you'll take it the week of Christmas and be done with it.

There's generally been a 41-75 percent chance of snow on Christmas in Eastern Iowa, according to statistics up to 2010 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA).

What can we expect this year?  Cedar Rapids looks to be on a line between a 41-60 percent chance. Further south (including in Iowa City), less probability and more to the north.

So to recap, our chance of a white Christmas is basically "50/50". Big help, huh? But, it's good information to know if you're planning trips anywhere for the holidays, and as even the meteorologists will tell you these days, it's way too early to be precise.
