KDAT Announces Our “Top Teacher”

Each month, 104.5 KDAT selects an influential educator from Eastern Iowa to be our Top Teacher. In conjunction with Half-Price Books, our Top Teacher gets a $25 gift card, and movie passes from Collins Road Theaters.

We have so many special teachers out there, and we know by our volume of entries every month, they are doing fantastic things for their schools and communities, and we thank each of them.

This month's winner exemplifies all that this contest is about. Congratulations to Mr. Jeremy Suiter of Benton Community Schools in Van Horne, IA.

He was nominated by Jim Parmenter, who took the time to share these words about Mr. Suiter: "Mr. Suiter is a beloved teacher at Benton Community. He gets to know each student individually and cares about what they do inside the classroom as well as outside the classroom. He announces the boys' football games, coaches golf, girls' basketball and preps the ball diamonds during the summer."
