KDAT’s Top Teacher is From Pierce Elementary

We can't believe it's the last Friday of September already, which means it's time to select a brand new "KDAT Top Teacher"

The winner each month gets a $25 Half-Price Books gift card and a pair of Collins Road movie passes as a small token of appreciation for the hard work and dedication they show to the students and parents at their school and the community.

This month, we're proud to recognize Blake Jenewein, a teacher at Pierce Elementary School in Cedar Rapids.

His nomination was sent to us by Megan Maring with a few words telling us what makes Blake so special.

Mr. J was ny son's 1st grade teacher last year. He did an AMAZING job teaching our son. He went in having trouble reading and ended the year reading chapter books! He generally cares about his students and their families, he called to let us know how our child was doing and if we had any questions throughout the year. We are so lucky and happy that he was Jayden's teacher. We hope our youngest can have him for his 1st grade teacher in 3 years!
