Two Kids Shot While Throwing Snowballs at Cars
The light snow that hit the midwest over the weekend led to some horseplay for a group of kids, two of which ended up being shot. A 12-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin were shot by a driver while throwing snowballs at vehicles early Saturday evening, January 4.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, they responded to a call in the 6100 block of West Birch St. at about 7:50 p.m. on January 4. Officers arrived to find a 12-year-old girl had been shot. Thankfully, her injuries were non-life threatening.
Just a few minutes later police found the 13-year-old boy, who had also been shot. His injuries were also non-life threatening. Both victims received first aid from officers and were treated at a local hospital.
Milwaukee police say the kids were throwing snowballs at vehicles when one hit a vehicle described only as a "white Toyota." The driver of that vehicle then "fired shots into the group of kids, striking the two victims."
The Milwaukee Police Department is asking for the public's help in the case.
