Exercise. Fresh Air. Scenery. "Sweating to the Oldies" (so to speak). Who knew that's all it took to make a guy feel better?

Well, technically, I knew, but I finally made my way down to the local park in my new neighborhood to see if I couldn't start to shake the rut that I've been in lately. So far, it seems to be working.

This is going to become a nightly ritual, weather permitting, to make the two block jaunt down to the park to make two laps around the lovely yet vigorous .8-mile trail. It's just what the doctor ordered. That is, if I had gone to the doctor.

Not only that, I look forward to catching a local concert or two this summer at Guthridge Park, especially during the upcoming Hiawatha Fun Fest in August. With baseball diamonds, picnic tables and volleyball courts busy seemingly every night and a tennis court and splash pad as well, there's something for everyone.

I can't wait until my next trek to my new favorite place.
